Your RGB-lit fans have wires coming out of them that allow you to control the lights (and obtain power, either 5V or 12V). Because you'll have probably have multiple fans but only one or two headers, these wires from the fans usually will combine with each other once, twice, or even three times ... Then you can use FN and Pause to do some alternating strobe thing.
