Bg3 break oath of devotion

Like title suggests, I'm going through a good(ish) playthrough. Thematically for my own purposes, I'm trying to break the oath of devotion. It doesn't suit my story to just go up to any random NPC and stab them, but how does one stick to playing a good playthrough and break the oath of devotion?
